Startup Weekend: Friday Night 7pm

The ProdNV team will be porting our Product Envy application written for Orkut using the OpenSocial API to run as a Facebook Application during this Startup Weekend. Andrew Hyde gave some inspiring opening remarks including this loosely paraphrased statement:

If you take nothing else away from this weekend, I hope you learn that a Startup Weekend is all about community building.

After some initial advice from some of the VCs in attendance, we are now turning to the section of the evening where people can pitch their product ideas and start forming teams. This is when the fun starts. Let's get this party started!

The VCs are giving some great feedback on the initial product pitches:

• Pitch the problem first and they will be more likely to be interested in your solution pitch.
  
• Keep it short and have memorable keywords or phrases like "digg for deals."
